I have regularly accompanied students for their ABRSM or Trinity music exams from grade 1 to 8 and for pupils doing their GCSE and A level recorded performances.
There will need to be some rehearsal time prior to the main event. This might only need to be a single session but often will need more time depending on the level of the piece, the experience of the performer and how well prepared they are.
Some of the more advanced pieces can require a substantial amount of practice for the accompanist; it is quite common to find the solo part is easier than the accompaniment. For this reason some of the more difficult pieces require adequate advance notice to be ready in time.
